AN exclusive country house near Bampton has opened its doors for two charity supper evenings.

Chris Badham and Damian Llambias, owners of Huntsham Court, gave free use of the house for two Gala Supper Club events.

The evenings featured fine food by Posh Nosh Catering, wine sponsored by the Jolly Vintner in Tiverton and live music by The Westenders – a group starring five of the cast members of Les Miserables – performing some of the most popular songs from the West End musical stage.

Proceeds from the supper raised more than £1,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care, Devon.

Tiverton-based wine merchant The Jolly Vintner, which supplied the wine and ran the bar for the events, also gave funds from bar takings to the charity.

Caroline Llewellyn, patron of Devon Marie Curie Cancer Care, who attended both evenings, said: “We were delighted that Marie Curie was one of Huntsham Court’s chosen charities for its inaugural supper club.

“Both events were thoroughly enjoyable and a huge success, raising crucial funds for Marie Curie and the people and families it supports and helps.”

Chris Badham, Huntsham Court’s joint owner, said: “The supper clubs were a great way to kick off the party season at Huntsham Court.

“We enjoyed opening up our private home to guests who share our passion for fine food and quality entertainment, while raising money for a truly worthwhile cause.”
