A TIVERTON theatre group is to perform its production of The Slipper and the Rose next week.

The play runs every evening next week and one performance will raise money for the charity ‘Families for Children Trust’, as £1 from every ticket sold for Wednesday’s show will be donated to the cause.

‘Families for Children Trust’ is a voluntary adoption agency and charitable trust based in the South West.

They believe that the best place for a child to grow is with their birth families.

However, where this isn’t possible, they endeavour to find new adoptive families who can offer them a stable and loving home.

Patron Caroline Quentin, a long-time supporter of Willowtree Theatre Company and Performing Arts School said: “When Ally (Colton, fundraising and publicity coordinator for Families for Children) told me about the charity and what they do, I think it touched a nerve with me because I’ve got two kids and they are so central to my life.

“When Ally started talking about finding families for children who weren’t central to someone’s life it really hit home for me and I wanted to see if I could be of any assistance for those children and those people looking for children.”

Producer for Willowtree, Vicky Baldwin said: “We are very excited about this production.

“It is a classic fairy story, with magical songs and witty dialogue.

“We have a terrific team in place to make this a wonderful piece of theatre. We are also very pleased to be able to support Families for Children, and would encourage people to buy tickets for Wednesday night to support this very important work.”

Tickets are from Twyford Photographers proced £8 for adults, £6 for children, £1 off on Monday night
