CHILDREN at Tidcombe Primary School in Tiverton raised over £150 for Children in Need during a fun-filled day last week.

Face painting, a spots and stripes theme and a cake sale were all ways in which the school reached its fantastic total for the Pudsey appeal.

Pupils paid £1 each to have their faces painted in a range of designs.

After school, parents, teachers and children tucked into Children in Needthemed cakes and biscuits which had been donated by staff and parents.

Ruth Roberts, chair of the PTA said: “We always do a yummy Friday where we sell cakes to raise funds for the school, but on Friday it was a special occasion as proceeds were going to Children in Need.

“It was a good day, and it was great to see so many people wearing spots and stripes.”

As well as raising money, Year 6 pupils wrote short pieces about what Children in Need means to people.

Head teacher Simon Green said: “It has been a real pleasure to support the charity’s work for disadvantaged children.

“I’m wonderfully impressed with the support from our children, parents and PTA.”
