THE author of a book about one of Devon’s oldest schools has won the Devon Book of the Year award, presented by the Devon History Society.
Mike Sampson’s ‘A History of Blundell’s School’ traces the Tiverton school’s past from its 17th Century foundation, right up to 2011.
It also discusses notable alumni, the school's move in 1882 to its present site on the outskirts of the town, the change to co-education and much more within its 398 pages.
Mike currently works as the archivist at Blundell’s School and his previous book, ‘A History of Tiverton’, also won the Devon History Book of the Year in 2004.
