Man assaulted in dispute over cones

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an assault at the junction of York Road and Queen's Crescent, Exeter at 1am on Tuesday.

In particular officers are trying to contact any potential witnesses who may have seen an assault or an argument -- thought to have started over the putting out of cones.

A 54-year-old man is thought to have been assaulted by four people, (two men and two women), and was left with a grazed head.

One of the four suspects is described as a white male wearing a white T-shirt, aged in his late teens to 20s.

A 20-year-old man was arrested nearby and released on police bail to return to Heavitree Road police station on July 20.

Police are asking for anyone with information to call 08452 777444.
