TERRITORIAL Army soldiers from the Exeter-based 6th Battalion The Rifles have returned from two weeks of training in Romania.
The Riflemen trained alongside Romanian Army 21st Mountain Battalion.
They fired Romanian weapons and took full advantage of a challenging 137-metre rock climbing course.
Romanian soldiers were given battlefield medical and survival training and worked on basic tactics.
Commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Tom Mereweather said: ''The battalion has a great deal of operational experience from Iraq and Afghanistan and one of the main reasons for us being in Romania is because its army wants us to share that knowledge with them.
''We have found the experience of training in the beautiful surroundings of the Carpathian Mountains exciting and challenging.''
