DEVON County Council’s library service has set up a new dedicated webpage for young people.

The page appears on the UR Devon website - designed in consultation with young people – which contains a wealth of information of particular interest to young people of all ages.

The page can be found at www.devon.gov.uk/urlibrary “We have set up this page to encourage more young people to take advantage of the range of information and services available at the County Council’s libraries,” said Executive Member for Culture Councillor Sheila Hobden. “It is still a work in progress. One section to be added shortly will be a ‘breaking news’ area to publicise library events and other items of interest to young people.”

The page contains information about how to join a library, what items can be borrowed and reserved and use of computers. Young people under 16 are also invited to nominate which new books, CDs or DVDs they would like the county’s libraries to stock. Each month one suggestion will be chosen and the person who put it forward will receive a £5 book token.
