Mid Devon Show 2012 NOT cancelled

THE 2012 Mid Devon Show has NOT been cancelled, despite rumours to the contrary.
Organisers of the event have been swamped with phone calls asking if the show is no longer going ahead.
And the Mid Devon Star would like to reassure its readers that the show will most definitely go on!
The show will see a host of non-stop activity come to Hartnoll Farm in Tiverton from 9am until 5.30pm on Saturday, July 28, in aid of the Mid Devon Town & Country Show Society.
The main ring will feature a vintage farm machinery parade, a YFC competition, a musical ride, pony club games, Jonathan Marshall falconry, private driving and heavy horses, a grand parade and a parade of hounds.
In the music and dance pavilion will be the Tiverton Town band, Miranda Maryan, Lane and the Silverstones, Mr Showers and Barrauda.
Stroll over to the countryside arena to see Terry Moule and his racing ferrets, a working gundog display, a sheepdog display, and a fly casting and beach casting display.
Visitors will also find carousels, a bouncy castle, archers and trade stands.
A crèche is available for young children. Tickets cost £12.80 for adults, £11.80 for senior citizens and £4.80 for children if bought online in advance. Facilities for the public are arranged to make visiting the show as easy as possible. Parking is free and a half hourly free bus service from Tiverton is available, with pick up points at Kingdom’s Garage, opposite Westexe South, factory gate (Shillands), Baptist Church, Lowman Green, Tiverton Hotel, roundabout by McDonalds, Merriemeade Hotel (Sampford Peverell) and opp. Halberton Club.
We also have a free bus service from Crediton, one run, commencing at 9.00am and picking up at The Green, Old Town Hall, Old Cinema, Cadbury Garage and opp. Fisherman’s Cot at Bickleigh.
New for this year is the addition of a free bus service from Cullompton which will pick up from Padbrook bus stop, the Bull Ring, top of Headweir Road, in Willand opposite the football club and at the One Stop and also at the Village Hall in Halberton. Cyclists may like to use the route along the Grand Western Canal to access the showground.
From the Tiverton Parkway train station taxi’s area available, a taxi ‘pick up’ area has been designated at the showground.

Free Bus Service – Tiverton
A free bus service will run from Tiverton, collecting passengers approx. every half hour. Pick up points are as follows:
Kingdoms Garage
Westexe South
Factory Gate (Shillands)
Baptist Church
Lowman Green
Tiverton Hotel
McDonalds (Heathcoat Way)
Merrimeade Hotel (Sampford Peverell)
Opposite Halberton Club
The last bus will leave the showground at 6.00pm
Free Bus Service – Crediton
The bus (Powells) will leave Lapford car park at 9.00 picking up at Morchard Road, Copplestone (Nisa), The Green (Crediton), Old Town Hall, Old Cinema, Cadbury Garage & opp. Fishermans Cot.
At the end of the day the bus will leave the showground at 5.00pm
Cyclists and Pedestrians
Cyclists and Pedestrians may like to use the canal tow path which runs from Canal Hill in Tiverton to close to the showground and is all level walking.
Tiverton Parkway
The Tiverton Parkway train station is situated at Sampford Peverell and enjoys a frequent bus service from Tiverton.
