SCARVES could have been swapped for shorts this week as Mid Devon basked in some rare February sunshine.
With the area seeing temperatures peaking to a barmy 16C, daffodil buds and white blossom in Cullompton could be forgiven for thinking spring or even summer has come early.
Pensioner Michael Arnold, 68, has been enjoying this year’s warmer winter and said: “It’s so pleasant to see Cullompton full of colour this early in the year. I hope it lasts.”
According to the Met Office, mild temperatures are set to continue for the coming week.
