AN application to develop three gipsy and traveller pitches in Culmstock won approval yesterday from Mid Devon council yesterday.

Nearly 20 placard-wielding protestors turned up at a council planning meeting at Tiverton Town Hall over fears the removal of a hedge to provide access to the site would change the character of the village.
