GO2, organisers of Exeter’s Great West Run, are pleased to announce that Exeter’s Great West Run will be taking place on Sunday, October 18.

Following on from the race success in 2014, over 2,000 participants have already pre-registered for the 2015 event, which suggests that this year’s event will continue to grow in popularity for runners across the South West.

Particularly for those looking to add an autumn half marathon date to their diaries.

Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing and Commercial at GO2, said: “Exeter’s Great West Run is one of the longest standing half marathons in the UK, and we are pleased to see the event continue to gather momentum and retain its historic legacy.

"We hope that more runners than ever will be inspired by the thousands of participants that took to the streets in 2014, and choose Exeter’s Great West Run as their challenge to take on in 2015!”

This year’s event will once again see the race village located in Belmont Park, with runners taking to the central city start line on Sidwell Street.

The half marathon route follows one single lap through the heart of Exeter, before heading on to sections of the University, as well as the beautiful country lanes of St Andrews Road and Stoke Woods.

The course has been designed to provide great running conditions, on traffic-free roads, with the opportunity for great spectator support.

all the energy of a city centre road race, combined with pretty country lanes and stunning views across Exeter.

Whether you’re a Great West regular, taking on your first ever half marathon or running for a charity close to your heart, pre-registration is now open for next year’s race at www.thegreatwestrun.co.uk where you can sign up to be first to hear when entries open.
