COMPANIES across Devon took part in the county’s first Resilience Show in Exeter.

Free advice and insight into an array of sustainable ideas, products and services was on offer from experts at Resilience Show 2014, held at Southernhay Hall in the heart of Exeter.

The show was organised by Exeter firm Green My Business with all profits from the day going to the Southernhay Church Buildings Appeal.

Stuart Doderer, of greenmybusiness.co.uk, said: “We were busy throughout the day. People were there discussing all manner of topics from plans for Exeter’s new currency – the Exeter Pound – and energy-saving advice from the University of Exeter to solar panels and buying locally-sourced goods.

“We had firms showcasing energy solutions, eco-cleaning products and advice on sustainable projects from architects and solicitors. There was a real buzz.”

Richard Slack, of Teign Valley-based exhibitor Maintenance Plus, said: “It was busy and good to connect with like-minded companies and talk to members of the public. The mix of firms now offering sustainable approaches in their sector has grown rapidly in recent years, which is fantastic.”

Companies and organisations that took part included Crispin Associates, Dart Designs, Exeter Pound, Exeter Community Energy Scheme, Butler Events, Nutshell Paints, Cosy Home, greenmybusiness, Axcess Electric Bikes, University of Exeter, Terinex, Stephens Scown Solicitors, Sungift Solar, Bartercard, Biodrier, Earth Renewables, Robert Scott & Sons, Maintenance Plus, Love-Local, Devon Wildlife Trust and Co-Car.
