A 16-year-old girl has been left seriously injured after a out of control vehicle collided with a crowd of people at a Plymouth car park.

Police are investigating the "serious collision" in Plymouth last night after officers were called to a large gathering of vehicles and people at a car park in Tavistock Road around 10pm.

A spokesman said: "It was reported that a vehicle had lost control and collided with a group of pedestrians. Sixteen people received minor injuries and one 16 year old girl has been seriously injured and taken to Derriford Hospital.

"Police have arrested one man on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit attended the scene to carry out an investigation.
