Police are trying to trace a cyclist who allegedly assaulted a truck driver during a road rage incident in Plymouth.

The driver of the blue and white HGV was driving on Plymouth Road around 7.35am on 2 July when a cyclist gestured at him.

As he stopped at the junction with Cot Hill the male cyclist then punched the truck.

When the lorry driver got out of the cab he was punched in the face by the cyclist and knocked to the ground. The Plymouth man, in his 40s, sustained minor cuts and bruises.

Police are now seeking the cyclist who is described as white, around 6ft 3ins tall, of medium build and wearing a red top and black cycling shorts.

Any witnesses or anyone with information about the assault are asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference number CR/086308/14.
