GIRLS from Willand, Haytor Vale, Chagford, Tiverton, and Witheridge, will take part in a huge Disney themed Devon Fantasy sleepover at Exeter Racecourse as part of an extra-special Stay Away adventure to mark 100 years of Brownies.
The Brownies, all aged seven to 10, are joining more than 500 other girls from all over Devon on 25th, July 26 and 27 to celebrate The Big Brownie Birthday.
Girlguiding members from all over the UK are taking part in events all across the country to celebrate this huge milestone for girlguiding.
The girls are expected to enjoy a range of exciting activities, including Morris Dancing, Cardboard Box Cooking, Archery, Climbing Walls, Zip Wires, Giant Inflatable’s, Crafts, Face Painting and various Disney themed workshops, amongst many, many, more.
The activities were drawn from feedback from the Brownies themselves when asked what they would like to do to celebrate The Big Brownie Birthday.
All activities are aimed at building girls’ confidence and self-esteem, to encourages them to become active citizens and learn about the wider world whilst giving them a space to have fun and be themselves with other girls.
Jane, Brown Owl, First Haytor Brownies said: “Brownies are in our 100th year, we are all looking forward to our Disney theme celebrations, it should be a fun memorable occasion”.
