A man in his 60's was shot in the head by an air rifle while in a Plymouth car park.
Two local men aged 21 and 19 yrs were arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
A police spokesman said: "At around 3.10pm on Wednesday, June 4 officers attended a report of a man been shot with an air pellet in a car park at William Prance Road, at Derriford, Plymouth.
"A man, aged in his 60’s was shot in the head and was taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment.
"Following a search in near-by woods a police dog found a .22 air rifle and a 177 air rifle together with 2 boxes of pellets."
The victim has been discharged from hospital.
