Police in Plymouth have launched an investigation after a man was crushed to death between two vehicles.

Police say that at 6.19pm on Tuesday, April 29 (yesterday) an incident took place on Glenholt Road, Plymouth involving a stationary Landrover Defender with a two axle flatbed trailer attached, which was carrying a Volkswagon Transporter Van.

A 27 year old male from the Hull area had collected the Volkswagon Transporter van from an address in Glenholt Road and was in the process of loading it onto the trailer when an incident occurred causing the male to be crushed between the vehicles.

The male was conveyed to Derriford Hospital but sadly died of his injuries. Next of kin have been informed but a formal identification has not yet taken place.

Weather and road conditions were dry and fine.

Sgt Jane Corkhill from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit says “We are very keen to speak to anyone that was in the Glenholt Road area between 1730 and 1830hrs that evening who may have witnessed the lead up to this tragic event or the actual incident itself”
