MID Devon attraction Huntsham Court, near Sampford Peverell, is to hold a unique fundraising day to raise money for the League of Friends of Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.

The event, which will be held on June 25, will feature two separate events – a Garden, Art and Food Fair, and a ‘From cream teas to burlesque’ evening.

The fair will have stands of local artists and artisans, small antiques, plants and garden gifts and locally produced food, while the burlesque will be a lighthearted evening of supper and song with a bubbly and canapés reception on the terrace, followed by a two-course supper and coffee, interspersed with musical entertainment of ‘Wit and surprises, pathos and laughter’ orchestrated by John Young.

Chris Cutting, president of the League of Friends, said: “This is only possible with the generosity of local people who donate, attend events like this and leave generous legacies.

“We hope you will join us at this unique event so we can give to future requests for equipment for the benefit of us all.

“We’re delighted to be chosen to hold a day at Huntsham Court.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to visit this grand country house in the midst of lovely countryside.”

The day will be run by a team of volunteers and all profits will go to the League of Friends of the Musgrove Park Hospital.

The League has given over £1million to Musgrove Park over the past few years, much of it for new equipment for the Accident & Emergency Department.
