Police investigating the theft of some jewellery in Plymouth are appealing to the public to trace a distinctive necklace with sentimental value.

The circumstances around the theft are unclear but officers believe the necklace, along with other items of jewellery, may have been taken from a property in the North Prospect of the city between Friday, December 13 last year and Saturday, March 1.

The necklace is described as solid gold, with a heart pendant, and the face of a deceased family member etched onto it. A similar necklace in silver is pictured.

A solid gold chain with a crucifix and Jesus Christ, two gold bracelets – one with rubies and the other with diamonds embedded, and three pairs of gold hoop earrings have also been taken.

DC Gavin Bulley, from the local investigation team, said: β€œThe necklace clearly has a huge sentimental value to the family and we are appealing for the public to get in touch if they know where it is.”

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the jewellery, or is offered the items for sale, is asked to call police on 101, quoting ED/14/1870, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
