The Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) has launched a new programme of outdoor activities for the spring and summer of 2014.
Over 40 events are to run between April 1 and September 30, including wildlife weekends, courses and walks, as well as opportunities to take part in outdoor volunteering days or learn new life skills.
A festival of home produce will offer visitors to the Blackdowns the chance to find out how to work with nature on their own patch.
Katherine Findlay, information officer for the Blackdown AONB, said: “We run programmes all through the year, and this one is covering the spring and summer.
“There’s something for everyone within the programmes, from children to forestry professionals, and hopefully we’ll get some nice weather during the summer.”
The Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covers 370 sq km of land on the Devon- Somerset border.
It is one of 46 AONBs in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
AONBs are landscapes which are considered so precious they are protected for the nation.
The Blackdown Hills Countryside Events programme is available from local Tourist Information Centres, libraries and shops.
