BRADNINCH Folk Club will be on overdrive on March 18 with three visiting acts at the Castle Hotel, Bradninch – anyone of which could headline a night.

The Club’s guests are Dumbo’s Feather a traditional folk trio, based in Devon, The Billycocks and Adam Sweet.

The guests will be adding a distinctly Irish slant to their performance with the close proximity to Saint Patrick’s Day. Dumbo’s Feather, a band comprising three vastly experienced traditional folk musicians who have all performed in some renowned traditional folk bands in the past.

The Billycocks who have steadily built up a sizeable local following with their professional yet warm approach to their craft.

They take traditional songs and tunes from the British Isles, add their own style and engage the audience in an experience that combines musicality with storytelling and a little dry humour along the way.

The songs and stories are conveyed by the vocals of Rob Seymour who adds mandolin, guitar and whistle to the sound which is underpinned by the stylish guitar playing of David Harflett whose vocal harmonies add a richness to an already evocative sound.

Another performer from the Exe Blues Delta, Adam Sweet – is a supremely talented vocalist and acoustic guitarist, with a huge reputation throughout South-West England and increasingly beyond.

Although still only in his mid-20s, Adam Sweet can hold his own in any company with his quite remarkable acoustic performance.

The evening starts at 8pm and entry on the door is £4 at Castle Hotel function room.

Although the club cannot pack much more into the evening the regulars will make sure all visitors are made welcome. The start time is 8pm and entry to the event at the Castle Hotel function room is £4 on the door.
