Police have confirmed that a body found in the sea at Noss Mayo on 11 January was that of missing Newton Ferrers teenager Harry Martin.

Harry, 18, was reported missing after leaving his home in Newton Ferrers on January 2 to take photographs in stormy weather.

Police, partner agencies and members of the public were involved in extensive searches of the area and the body of a man was found at Carswell Bay just after 10am on Saturday.

Formal identification took place yesterday and Harry’s family has been informed.

An inquest is due to open on Monday.
