A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after fellow student was stabbed at Eggbuckland Community College in Plymouth

Police say that shortly before 8.40am today, Monday, December 9, police were called after reports that a student had allegedly been stabbed at the school.

A 15-year-old boy has been taken to Derriford hospital with a back injury. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The 14-year-old male suspect has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and has been taken into police custody. He is also a student at the college.

Supt Chris Singer said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this incident and would like to reassure people that there is no danger to anyone else. The alleged weapon that was used has been seized and the suspect has been arrested.”
