'Lamb Watch' launched after deaths at country park

A "lamb-watch" scheme has been launched at a Torbay country park after lambs were killed.

So far this spring ten lambs have been killed, with dogs thought to be responsible.

A spokesman for Torbay Coast and Countryside watch, said: "This Spring there has been a series of dog attacks on lambs in Cockington, with ten lambs killed to date. The most recent attacks were last Friday in Dew Park, the field above the Arboretum, with two lambs killed.

"We are launching Cockington Lamb-Watch to help prevent and deter this pointless loss of life. We are asking local residents and businesses around Cockington, as well as local walkers and community members, to keep a close eye on the park and to contact us with any information that may help us and the police identify those responsible."

Call the Trust on 01803 520022 to help them protect the lambs.
