Devon and Somerset Fire Service warn of chimney fires

HOMEOWNERS with wood-burning stoves or open fires are being reminded to clean flues in their homes after a spate of chimney fires.
Crews have attended fires at Wellands Close in Uffculme, Latchmore Green in Thorverton, the Square in Witheridge, Black Dog in Crediton and Lammacott Farm in Bow over the last few days.
Devon and Somerset Fire Service said sweeping chimneys regularly can prevent fires.
