Police in Plymouth are appealing for information after a teenager was racially abused in the city centre.

The abuse took place at around 4.15pm on Tuesday, February 19 outside the Marks and Spencer food hall at the top of Cornwall Street.

The 17-year-old was crossing the road with friends when the driver of a white Ford Galaxy pulled up, wound down his window and directed racial abuse at him.

Police say the manis also alledged to have threatened the teenager.

A police spokesman said: "As it was half-term week, the area was busy with shoppers and officers are appealing for anyone who may have information regarding the incident to contact them on 101 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111, quoting reference EC/13/1705."
