Ponies killed in traffic collision near Wellington

TWO ponies were killed following a traffic collision near Wellington.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident near the Wellington Monument in Clayhidon around 10.40am on Saturday, February 2.

One pony was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was later destoryed because of its injuries. Neither motorist was reported injured.

The road between the Merry Harriers pub and the Wellington Monument was closed for several hours after the incident.
