CAR parking costs are one less worry for Christmas shoppers in Mid Devon this year after the district council waived fees in the three major towns.
On the four Saturdays running up to Christmas, Mid Devon District Council is offering free parking in Tiverton, Crediton and Cullompton.
Car parks in Crediton, including St Saviours Way and High Street, will be free on December 1, 8, 15 and 22.
The multi-storey in Tiverton, along with Phoenix Lane is included, and in Cullompton, Station Road car park will be free on Saturdays.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Peter Hare-Scott, said: “We are offering the free parking on Saturdays running up to Christmas as we’re trying to do as much as we can to encourage people into our town centres.
“As well as the Christmas parking, people can also park in the long stay car parks at Crediton and Tiverton for five hours for £1 at other times during the week.
“Crediton, Cullompton and Tiverton have a tremendous variety of shops, markets and traders with a huge range of goods and gifts available.”
