Man arrested setting himself adrift in a Plymouth fishing boat
11:00am Wednesday 21st November 2012 in Devon
A man has been arrested for taking a fishing boat without consent in Plymouth.
The 34-year-old Birmingham man has been given a police caution after he set himself adrift in a small fishing boat in Sutton Harbour.
Police received a call from a man at the harbour at about 11.40 pm on Monday, November 19.
They found that the suspect had climbed on board and untied the ropes allowing the boat to drift around the harbour.
Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police and the Ministry of Defence Police attended in the MOD boat, boarded the stolen vessel and arrested the man.
He was detained at Chares Cross Police Station before being interviewed and cautioned for the offence of taking without consent.
