Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed on the way to the bank in Torquay.

The 31-year-old Torquay man was attacked by two men on Hartop Road as he went to pay money into the bank on November 19.

A police spokesman said the pair grabbed a carrier bag containing the money and punched the victim to the ground. He was treated for minor injuries at Torbay Hospital.

Police are appealing for information about the robbery which happened between 12.30pm and 1pm at the junction of Cambridge Road and Hartop Road.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the men on Cambridge Road prior to the robbery. They were both wearing dark coloured hoodies and waterproof jackets and jeans.

It is thought the pair left the scene at speed in a small white vehicle.

Anyone who saw the men or the vehicle is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference FT/12/8286.
