Police say a 22-year-old man was fortunate to escape more serious injury after ahe was assaulted in a Plymouth night club.

The incident happened around midnight Wednesday 31 October 2012 to Thursday 1 November 2012 when the victim was in the bottom bar of the Union Rooms, Union Street.

A police sokesman said: "He was with a group of friends when he was suddenly punched in the face causing cuts and bruising and damage to a number of teeth.

"Fortunately, the glass he was holding did not break or the injuries may have been more serious.

The injured man was wearing a multi coloured wig, a pair of leopard print leggings with a white vest top and red shoes.

The man police are looking for in connection with the assault is described as offender was described as a white, about 20-25 years old, around 5 feet 10 inches tall and of slim build.
