Man dies in Plymouth motorbike crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 20-year-old man died in a fatal road traffic collision in Plymouth on November 6.

Officers and emergency services were called to a single-vehicle collision involving a Honda motorcycle on Alexandra Road, Mutley Plain at 7am.

The pillion passenger, from Plymouth, sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. Formal identification has not taken place although next of kin have been informed.

The rider of the bike, a 21-year-old man from Elburton, suffered a serious arm injury and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

Alexandra Road was closed while investigations took place.

Officers from the Force Serious Collisions Investigation Unit have launched an investigation into the collision.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen witnessed the collision or seen the motorcycle travelling in the area around 7am today. Please contact police on 101, quoting log number 78 of 6/11/12.
