Washing machine fire in Cullompton (April 3)
A SMALL fire in a washing machine in Cullompton was dealt with by fire crews this morning, (April 3).
Three fire appliances from Cullompton, Middlemoor and Honiton attended the incident at a property in Park Close, Clyst Hydon after receiving a call at 11.17am.
The occupier of the house reported that smoke was issuing from their washing machine but that they had turned it off.
Shortly after arriving and investigating crews confirmed that the small fire, involving the washing machine, was out on arrival.
Crews carried out an inspection of the appliance and area to ensure the scene was safe, before handing duty of care over to the occupant.
Damage was confined to the washing machine only.
