POLICE in Cullompton are stepping up their neighbourhood patrols following reports of anti-social behaviour at the Skate Park on Meadow Lane.

Members of the public have reported motorbikes being ridden across the playing field area next to the skate ramps - and on Tuesday, September 2, a local youth was identified by the Cullompton Neighbourhood team and given a notice under Section 59 Police Reform Act 2002.

This warns the rider that similar driving in the future will result in the motorbike's seizure.

Sergeant Andrew Stuthridge, Neighbourhood Team leader, said: “Police will continue to monitor this area and youths are reminded that if they use their motorcycles elsewhere other than on the road, they may find themselves subject to a summons and a seizure of their motor vehicle.

“I would like to remind anyone that riding or driving elsewhere other than a road is an offence which they could be prosecuted for.”

Anyone wishing to report ASB in this area can call the Police on 101 quoting reference number EN/144359/14.
