A CULLOMPTON company has won three awards at the British Damage Management Association’s annual conference and award ceremony.

Richfords Fire & Flood were rewarded for working with Gittisham Care Trust in Devon after a major flooding incident at a care home for elderly people.

The floodwater got into the trust’s building through airbricks in winter, 2012, and Richfords technicians dried out the building as they would any other, but the special recognition is for how they looked after residents, making sure they were able to move into restored, dry rooms as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Project manager Jon Henry was recognised by the BDMA judges as Young Achiever of the Year, senior technician Aubrey Hocking was handed BDMA Technician of the Year, while marketing director Michael Cooper collected an award for Richfords as a whole for Damage Management Project of the Year
