A SUPERSLIMMER from Willand had her weightloss story aired to millions of people on television this week.

Claire Coles appeared on Channel 5’s Too fat to fly show on Wednesday, a documentary about the difficulties obese British holiday-makers suffer when they go abroad.

Claire’s journey started when she suffered the embarrassment on a holiday flight as she couldn’t fit into her seat on the plane.

Since then, Claire has shed an impressive 12 STONES and NINE dress sizes.

She said: “I couldn’t fit into the seat, and after the embarrassment of asking for a seat belt extender, it was still a very tight fit, my legs were pinched and I couldn't even lower the tray, it was very uncomfortable.

“I was so embarrassed and unhappy, I just wanted the floor to open up and swallow me, and I spent the five hours of the flight in tears.”

It was looking at holiday pictures when Claire returned home that she realised over time just how out of hand her weight had got.

After losing a staggering 20 inches off her waist, Claire has transformed from a tight size 28 to a size 10 and with her new-found energy Claire is now using her experiences to help others.

She said: “When I was approached and asked to do the documentary I didn’t hesitate. I was so desperately unhappy when I was big, and if I can help inspire just one person that they have the power and ability to change their life for the better then it’s all worth it.”
