A TEENAGER from Copplestone is paddling the river Exe from Tiverton College to Exeter in memory of his granddad who suffered a stroke.
Zak Bennett, 15, will take on the 19-mile white-water challenge on November 11 and is raising money for the Royal Devon and Exeter Clyst ward, who cared for his granddad Bill Bennett – a former teacher at John Stocker School.
On his fundraising page, Zak said: “Sport was his [Bill Bennett] passion and would be busy many an evening and weekend with sporting events through school and would have many a tale to tell.
“Please help us in raising as much money as possible for this charity and thank you all for your kind support.”
