NEARLY 5000 people turned for Crediton's 13th Christmas Tree festival recently.
The event, which was held in Crediton Parish Church, saw record numbers attend from young school children to a 100-year-old lady.
The Christmas Tree festival, which was first held in 2003, featured 76 decorated and illuminated trees.
Tree number 47 by Daphne's Lace Group took the prize for favourite adult tree, with Crediton Brownies taking favourite children's tree.
The Church were also holding visits to the historic Governor's Room and the bell tower, as well as having seasonal refreshments available at the nearby Boniface Centre.
Although they are not able to confirm an exact number yet, Crediton Parish Church have said they are expecting the Church upkeep fund to rise to more than £8,000.
Their current major appeal, outside of the normal fund raising and maintenance, is for phase one of major roof works for which they need £600,000.
