A QUEEN Elizabeth's pupil was given a huge surprise in an assembly when she was presented with an iPod nano.

Ellie Hutchings, 14, was presented with the prize for winning a school competition, entered by purchasing her QE uniform at Town and Countrywear over the summer.

The draw was open to anyone who bought a QE tie, pullover or jacket at the shop at 136 High Street, Crediton, and the iPod nano was a very popular prize, with many more entries than the win a bike prize draw that it replaced.

The prize was presented by Rupert Poole, College Principal at QE along with Richard Billson, Chief Executive of Mole Avon Trading Limited and Daphne Pottle, Supervisor of Town & Countrywear.

Mr Billson said: “We are pleased that people support local shops like Town & Countrywear.

“We are the only local stockist of uniform and sportswear for QE and Haywards, Landscore, Morchard Bishop, Sandford and Copplestone primary schools, offering value for money right on your doorstep.”
