STUDENTS from Queen Elizabeth School, Crediton, visited the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham earlier this month.

It was an early start for them on December 9 as they headed north to Birmingham NEC Arena.

This year marked the 25th anniversary of Clothes Show Live, giving students interested in fashion and textiles, media studies, photography and dance a chance to experience the best the industry has to offer.

The day involved watching professional models, looking at designer clothing, and listening and speaking to celebrities and guest speakers.

The highlight of the day was the catwalk show in the fashion theatre.

Two students also got the chance to meet reality TV star Jamie Laing, of the show Made in Chelsea.

Weronika Kwak and Jade Sowden were the lucky pair and the star even agreed to have his photo taken with them.

For students thinking of studying fashion and textiles, many specialist colleges and universities were showcasing an array of courses on offer.

Miss Joy, textiles teacher at the school, said: “Going to Clothes Show Live was a fantastic opportunity for QE students.

“Most of them have never seen anything like this before, and were very impressed by the choreography, models and fashion collections on display.

“Though the day was long the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and several even managed to get photographed with someone famous.”
