Torbay Battle of the Bands
9:00am Tuesday 31st July 2012 in News
Time is running out for talented young musicians who want to take part in Parkfield's very first Battle of the Bands competition this summer.
The deadline to enter is Friday, August 10. The competition will take place at the Torbay Council run youth centre on Friday, August 24 at 7pm.
Performers need to be under 18 years old and in a band or a solo artist. Parkfield in Paignton has been open since October 2011 and will be running its first Summer Holiday Programme over the next six weeks.
It has an international BMX track and skate park, a fantastic indoor climbing wall, sports hall with retractable seating for theatre use, DJ/Recording Studios, state of the art Apple Mac IT suite, training/meeting rooms and a café area.
The Battle of the Bands event will take place in the hall at Parkfield. It's hoped that guests from several live music venues will to come along and judge the competition to find the youth centre's first Battle of the Bands winner.
The audience will also be encouraged to help pick the winner.
Anyone who wants to take part of this brand new event at Parkfield should send an email to parkfield@torbay.gov.uk or call 01803 698900 with their contact details.
