THE search is on for a new venue for the Mid Devon Show.

It is moving from Hartnoll Farm, near Tiverton, from 2015 - although a new site has not yet been found.

This year's event on Saturday, July 28 will be the 19th time it has been staged at Hartnoll Farm, owned by John and Clare Clapp.

But the lease will be up after the 2014 show and there are fears it could be moved further away from Tiverton.

Organisers say the showground needs to be free of livestock for 28 days before and after the event, which can be a problem for a working farm.

They are also looking for a site with good access, level land and enough space for one of the county's biggest attractions.

Meanwhile, the Mid Devon Show has been judged the top agricultural show in a national Farmers' Guardian competition.
