Mid Devon people urged to comment on district council's economic plans

PEOPLE who live or work in Mid Devon are being encouraged to have their say on Mid Devon Council’s plans to kick-start the local economy.

The plans are designed to support local businesses, attract new businesses into the area, improve town centres and encourage more and better quality jobs in Mid Devon.

Amy Tregellas, head of Communities and Governance, said: “Mid Devon faces some significant challenges to its economic development.

“Tackling these challenges is now right at the top of our agenda. Before we launch the new strategy and action plan, we really want to hear your views. Have we set the right goals? Will this help make Mid Devon a better place to live and work?”

The full version of the draft Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan can be viewed on-line, along with a form to provide feedback, at www.middevon.gov.uk/getinvolvednow

Copies of the form are also available from one of the council’s customer first centres by contacting Amy on 01884-234246 or by e-mailing atregellas@mid|devon.gov.uk

The closing date for feedback is Monday, February 20. The final version of the Strategy and Action Plan will be presented to the Cabinet on March 8.
