PEOPLE have been saying what Bishop’s Hull-based St Margaret’s Hospice means to them – in one word.
They were asked for their views as part of the nationwide Hospice Care Week, which ends on Friday.
Descriptions ranged from “choice” to “life”, and “laughter” to “friends” and “home”.
Pam Knight, director of fundraising and communications at St Margaret's, said: “Many people think that St Margaret's only provides end of life care, but are often surprised to find out we also care for many more people in their own homes, in our Sunflower day hospices and through counselling and family support.
“We actually aim to help people live well until they die, sometimes over a number of years.”
