A THURLOXTON pub raised over £4,000 for a children’s disability charity after its owners took to the sky.
Jo and James Lowe, owners of the Maypole Inn, took part in a sponsored skydive in aid of the charity.
And after a cancellation due to bad weather, the thrill seekers could finally jump and raised £4309.63 as a result.
Paul Smith, SW Community Fundraiser for Brainwave, said: “I can’t praise all those who took part enough. I will do many things for a Charity, but jumping out of a plane is not one of them.
“Hats off to all those who took part for their bravery and their fundraising!”
Bridgwater-based Brainwave provides therapy and exercise Programmes for children with a wide range of disabilities, including, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome, Autism and Developmental Delay and work to try and unlock a child’s true potential.
