SIX budding dancers from Withleigh Young Farmers Club will be making their way to the finals of a national competition this weekend.

After winning three previous rounds of Jazz Dancing, the members will now represent the South-West at the national finals in Blackpool.

The competition will be held at the Winter Gardens on Saturday, where the likes of Matt Baker, Ann Widdecombe and Brendon Cole have all danced previously in Strictly Come Dancing.

The six dancers – Anne-Marie Harris, Annabel Chanin, Claire Bellew, Chris Pring, Richard Tucker and Daniel Webber - originally devised the routine with the help from Rose Chanin and Dave Waller as part of Withleighs’ Entertains production.

But after excellent reaction, they decided to enter their dance in the Devon finals of the competition.

After winning their first round, they went to Newquay to represent Devon in the South-West finals where they beat six other groups to claim the prize of Jazz Dancing winners in the South-West.

Now, all hopes are pinned on a flawless routine in Blackpool on Saturday as the talented group battle it out to be named the national winners of Jazz Dancing.

Chris Pring said: “We would like to thank Rose and Dave for helping us create this dance.

“It’s a great feeling to be able to represent the South-West and we look forward to Blackpool and the excitement that it brings.”
