PREPARATIONS are in full swing for the street party in Cullompton to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29.

St Andrews Church and Cullompton Town Council are working together to organise the party and are hoping that other organisations will join them.

It is intended to be a community event and everyone living in the area will be welcome to go along to Fore Street and Church Street and join in the celebrations.

Town clerk Judy Morris said: “We are looking for local entertainers and bands to provide a fun afternoon that everyone can come along to and enjoy.

“If you would like to help with the entertainment or in any other way then please contact the town council office on 01884 38249 or e-mail: towncouncil@cullompton.org”

The council is keen to hear from anyone that is celebrating their wedding anniversary on April 29 and St Andrews Church is holding special wedding vow renewal services in the church on Sunday, April 31 at 9.30am and 11am.

Anyone wanting more information should contact the St Andrews Church office on 01884-33249 or e-mail standoff@lineone.net

A bingo session to raise money for the party is being held in Cullompton Town Hall at 7.30pm on Friday, March 4.
