THE Guildhall in Exeter plays host to a free exhibition on January 27 as part Holocaust Memorial Day organised by the city council and Devon County Council.
The daytime event will include performances by school children telling what they’ve learned about the holocaust and other more recent genocides.
The exhibition will raise awareness of these ongoing issues with readings, presentations and visual displays as well as giving those who attend the opportunity to reflect on such issues and maybe even leave a comment in the city council’s Book of Remembrance.
During the late afternoon, attention will turn to The Mint Methodist Church, where Harry Bibring will give a presentation on his and his family’s life in war-time Europe.
The presentation promises to be a fascinating look at life for a Jewish family in 1930s in Germany, and the journey that brought Harry to England as part of the Kinderstransport.
A limited number of tickets for this presentation are available from the Lord Mayor’s office on 01392-265524.
The day's events will close with an evening of ‘Music and Words’, again at the Mint Methodist Church with tickets for this also available from the Lord Mayor’s office.
