STAFF from Uffculme School spent a day at the school’s namesake in Birmingham – a special school for students with autism.
The visit follows Uffculme’s recent Devon Inclusion Award for their outstanding provision for young people with the condition.
The two who made the trip were SENCO Liz Hawkins and autism specialist Mandy Matthews.
They are pictured with the Birmingham school’s head teacher, Alex Macdonald, and manager of language and communication, Helena Goldman.
Uffculme in Birmingham is mainly a primary school but is now expanding into secondary education.
The schools are hoping to continue contact for exchange of ideas and resources.
