OLYMPIC gold rower James Cracknell is heading a team of cyclists through Tiverton on Saturday on the penultimate stage of a length-of-the-country sponsored ride.

Cracknell and the group of 600 bikers, which includes Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Romero and Paralympic gold winners Sarah Storey and Jody Cundy, are riding from John o’Groats to Land’s End.

It’s all part of the inaugural Deloitte Ride Across Britain, which aims to raise £1million over four years for ParalympicsGB.

They are passing through Tiverton on the 116-mile eighth day from Cheddar to Launceston.
